چکیده
Introduction: Budd-Chiari syndrome is a rare condition which can be defined as hepatic venous outflow obstruction occurring at any level between the small veins and junction of inferior vena cava right atrium. Symptoms may vary from mild or even asymptomatic for many years to fulminant failure. Imaging mainstay diagnosis BCS. Laboratory ematological tests are invaluable in recognizing hematological coagulation disorders that identified up 75% patients. The recommended therapeutic approach BCS based on stepwise algorithm beginning with medical treatment, endovascular treatment restore vessel patency, placement transjugular portosystemic shunt (TIPS), orthotopic liver transplantation last resort rescue treatment. aim study: This study aims gather current knowledge about clinical manifestations, syndrome. Materials methods: review was available data collected PubMed database Google Scholar web search engine, using keywords: ’Budd-Chiari syndrome’ ,’hepatic obstruction’. Conclusions: requires interdisciplinary cooperation, has resulted increasing curability this disease over years.

imaging presentation of budd-chiari syndrome
budd-chiari syndrome is caused by the obstruction of the hepatic venous, with high mortality rate in nontreated cases. because the clinical presentation of this syndrome is nonspecific, is very important. contrast enhanced multiphase computed tomography (ct) and magnetic resonance (mr) angiography permits morphologic and functional assessment of liver changes in suspicious clinical setting. the...

Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is a rare condition which occurs when there is obstruction of the hepatic veins. It includes any condition in which there is obstruction to venous flow from the small hepatic veins to the inferior vena cava. It should be differentiated from veno-occlusive disease in which the sinusoidal epithelial cells of the hepatic venules are damaged; this mainly occurs after stem...

To the Editor, We read with interest the article by Shukla and Bhatia [1] in a recent issue of the Journal. The authors found that 6 of their patients could not undergo the standard radiological procedures because of technical reasons; reasons for this technical failure were however, not provided. In our experience of adult patients, the TIPSS procedure is usually possible. Of 58 patients who u...

Budd-Chiari syndrome is the generic term for different forms of hepatic venous outflow obstruction resulting in a clinical picture of portal hypertension and hepatomegaly. Three levels of venous outflow obstruction may be recognized, affecting respectively the small intrahepatic (IVC). Each level of obstruction is related to a different aetiology. Clinical manifestations range from mild symptom...

Primary Budd-Chiari syndrome is related to thrombosis of hepatic veins or the terminal portion of the inferior vena cava. This rare disease is usually caused by multiple concurrent factors, including acquired and inherited thrombophilias. Half of the patients with primary Budd-Chiari syndrome are affected with a myeloproliferative disease, the recognition of which is largely based on the assess...
